Sunburst Corvette Club Board Members Dee Rosendahl - President My husband Mike and I joined Sunburst in 2010 with our 1994 Triple Black Corvette. We are now on our sixth Vette, which is a 2024 E-Ray. I have been on the Board in several different positions over the past 15 years, four of which as President. Over the years, Mike and I have helped plan trips (Niagara Falls for one) and flash drives to our favorite places (mostly food related). We have been on the 40th & 45th Anniversary Planning Committees, helped with various events, such as the annual Car Show and organized the Memorial Day Parade for the last 10 years. I've also been on the Holiday Party Committee, and so much more. Mike & I have made lifelong friends in this club and it's so much fun to enjoy our Corvette with great people! Send Email Ken Zamazal - Vice President I About a dozen years ago I talked my wife Cathy into going to a car show instead of a local Flea Market. At the end of the day the results were kind of the same but instead of Flea Market stuff she came home with a Red 93 CorveBe. In 2022 we took the car to Bloomington Gold where it was Benchmark CerGfied. Definitely not Flea Market stuff. Since then, we’ve added a 07 Atomic Orange Metallic Coupe and a White 2021 SGngray hardtop convertible. We heard about Sunburst through the Chevy dealership and are glad we did. Truly a great group of people. Lot of fun get togethers. Glad to be part of it. Send Email Send Email Paul Lampier - Treasurer We bought our first Corvette in February 2022. It is a Torch Red 2012 Grand Sport. Great automobile and a blast to drive. Since joining Sunburst, Holly and I have come to learn that members are a generous and hardworking group that support local charities through fund raising. Whether the event is autocross, car shows, planned road trips or flash drives, the Sunburst Corvette Club members are extremely welcoming and we are glad to be part of the group. Jim Downing - Secretary Joani and I bought our first Corvete, a well-used 1967, shortly after getting married in 1972, and drove it from LA to Chicago in July. The air conditioning worked well but the floor got so hot that my shoes were melting into the carpet. Modern Corvettes are more comfortable. We soon discovered that little kids don’t fit well in the trunk, so we switched to Camaros until the kids were off to college. By 2001 we didn’t need back seats as much, and bought a new ‘vette. We showed up unannounced at a Sunburst meeting and were impressed by the friendly people and the wide variety of club activities, so we joined that summer. We have discovered that the Corvette is the “Swiss Army Knife” of automobiles- it does almost everything. We are now on our fifth one. And Sunburst is the appropriate club- we enjoy local drives, long distance road trips, autocrossing, car shows, parties, and the friendship of many fine people. Come and join us! Send Email Mike Moushey - Governor Kim and I joined Sunburst in 2013 after we acquired a 1973 black coupe with the intent to socialize with folks and to pursue an interest in Autocrossing. There was an immediate feeling of acceptance from other club members centered around a shared environment of fun and comradery. Having an interesting story behind the acquisition of “another“ 1973 coupe, I was inspired by a the historical significance and contributions of the WWII 332nd fighter squadron referred to as the “Red Tails”/ Tuskegee Airmen. In 2020 I dedicated my Autocross car by sporting a new Red Tails WWII Tribute paint scheme to commemorate these brave men and women who represented our country during those challenging times. Over the years, we have helped to support our annual Sunburst Car show and I’ve held the Sponsorship Chairmen’s role and helped organize the local autocross events. I would welcome and invite any Corvette owner to reach out and connect with our club to meet a great group of fellow Corvette enthusiasts who enjoy participating in a number of fun social events. Sunburst Corvette Club Car Show The Sunburst Corvette Club car show will take place September 13th, 2026. Although you'll see many Corvettes at this show, it is open to ALL makes and ALL models. This show is held in partnership with Martin Chevrolet in Crystal Lake, IL which opens their dealer lot up to hundreds of Corvettes and other highly polished and spectacular automobiles! The show runs from 10AM to 2PM including a multiple trophy presentation. Food and beverages are available for purchase from a local food trucks located at the show. We have a DJ throughout the event.
